ISB Primary Newsletter – Issue 12
Dear Parents
It was good to get back to normal this week with 5 teaching days and chance to deliver some quality learning experiences. We finished the week with a fantastic Chinese New Year assembly to end this very important festival.
This week also saw us playing football and T-Ball against Panaga. All our teams did very well with a clean sweep in the T-Ball and some good results in the football:

Year 2 Assembly – Billy No Buzz
Last Friday, 27th January, saw the Year 2 children present the story “Billy No Buzz’ to Reception, Year 1 and parents.

The story follows Billy Bee the bumble bee being rejected by the other bees because he couldn’t buzz. He found that no one wanted to be his friend but eventually he was accepted for being himself.
The Year 2 children had a lot of fun presenting “Billy No Buzz’ to their audience. They learned many songs that they sung throughout the show and helped make their costumes. They spent a lot of time thinking, considering and being sensitive to the needs and feelings of others.
Student Council Hold Chinese New Year Events
To foster relationships and show their leadership skills, the Student Council organised Chinese New Year themed activities for their younger school mates to enjoy. During Thursday break time, for KS1 and Friday morning in the Kindy space, the playground and classrooms were busy with dragon feeding, lantern making, dragon creating and a very popular puppet show about how the animals came to represent each of the years in the Chinese calendar.
It was a job well done and classes showed their appreciation by writing messages and cards to the Councillors. These are just a few from 2B.
