WELCOME TO SECONDARY
ISB is a uniquely exciting school in which for your child to enjoy their life and learning (whether as a day student or as part of our trailblazing International Residence), and it is a privilege for me to lead the Secondary School here, and to welcome you to the Secondary section of our website.
As a staff, we believe passionately in the entitlement of every student to enjoy a challenging and personalised learning experience, in and outside the classroom. Our teaching staff are experienced, dynamic and expert, and our examination results consistently demonstrate our academic calibre – as does the list of prestigious universities worldwide to which our students regularly gain access. We value equally the importance of your child’s emotional and social wellbeing, and, throughout their journey with us, I hope you will see them grow into a well-rounded, confident, articulate and successful global citizen – one of the leaders of their generation.
In addition, our extra-curricular programme is second-to-none in developing the ‘whole child’, in pursuit of the IB Learner Profile, and embracing the IB values of Creativity, Action and Service. With the natural wonders of Borneo on our doorstep, and an international reputation as a leading school in environmental education and sustainability, our students have the opportunity to live and learn in one of the most beautiful and safe locations in the world.
Whether you are visiting this website as a current or former parent or student, or as a prospective parent, student or member of staff, I hope you are able to find the information you are seeking. Should you wish to learn anything else about life and learning here at ISB, please do not hesitate to contact me.
With very best wishes
Supporting Learning Handbook 2013
At ISB, we believe firmly in the importance of home-school partnership. Students who do best are those for whom home and school work together to ensure the best possible learning experience - at school AND at home. We hope you find this booklet useful, and it helps you to find new ways to engage even more fully with your child’s learning experience. In ISB we embrace the range of nationalities. In Secondary there are 406 students (Secondary-311, IB- 95) on roll from as many as 29 different nationalities.
