ISB students achieve excellent IB results
Wednesday, 21st August 2024 – International School Brunei (ISB) students from the Year 13 cohort of 2024 achieved excellent results in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.
One student from the cohort attained 42 out of 45 points, while three achieved 41 points and five earned 40 points. 15 percent of candidates from the cohort achieved 40 or more points. Overall, ISB’s Year 13 Class of 2024 attained an average of 33.5 points, well above the global average of 30.32. In addition, the cohort achieved a pass rate of 98 percent – significantly higher than the 80 percent global average.
Recognised as the most highly valued curriculum for 16–18-year-olds by universities and employers, the IB Diploma is a challenging and stimulating two-year programme emphasising critical thinking, multi-disciplinary learning, and inter-cultural understanding.

From the cohort, every student that applied to university in 2024 received an offer, with 12 percent of final places at universities in the top 50 in the world, 57 percent at the top 250 universities in the world, and 74 percent at universities in the top 500 in the world.
The IB results achieved by the Year 13 cohort of 2024 underscore ISB’s track record of academic excellence and reinforce the school’s position as the premier choice for IB education in Brunei Darussalam.
