DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

Digital Citizenship at ISB

Promoting digital citizenship activities in school is a crucial step in preparing students for the digital age. These activities empower students to become responsible, ethical, and safe users of technology, both in and out of the classroom. At ISB, we are committed to cultivating these skills and knowledge both inside and outside of the classroom.

Digital Citizenship Curriculum

ISB follows the Common Sense Media Digital Citizenship Curriculum which has been designed and developed in partnership with Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. These lessons are delivered by teachers through Digital Literacy,  Computer Science & GLS lessons, with the aim of giving our ISB students the skills they need to succeed as digital learners, leaders, and citizens of tomorrow.

Outside the Classroom

Our Tech Leaders (Student Tech group chaired by Year 12 students) are proactive advocates for the responsible use of digital technologies, playing a crucial role in imparting the skills essential for the future. They encourage participation in events such as coding & typing competitions, Hour of Code and have led the e-waste movement. In addition, the school participates in Internet Safety Day where students lead an assembly and run lunchtime activities. Join us in 2024 with the theme “Together for a better internet”.

In addition, ISB works with parents to support their understanding of the digital world that their children are in, through parent workshops and digital safety infographics. Check out our parent newsletters through Seesaw in Primary and Parent in the Loop Wix site in Secondary.
